Prevention & Intervention Heart Team – Complex Patients, Shared Decisions
We were delighted to host the 3rd edition of the “Prevention & Intervention – where preventive cardiology meets interventional cardiology” conference. Building upon the success of our previous editions—focused on women’s health and lifetime cardiovascular management—we continued our mission to integrate preventive and interventional approaches in cardiovascular medicine.
The 3rd Central and Eastern Europe Summit 2025 centered on the crucial theme “Prevention & Intervention Heart Team – Complex Patients, Shared Decisions,” emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach to cardiovascular patient care. In today’s evolving healthcare landscape, the growing complexity of cardiovascular cases called for team-based collaboration that brought together diverse specialist expertise to achieve optimal outcomes.
The comprehensive program addressed the full spectrum of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) management in the context of multimorbidity. Distinguished international and Polish experts shared cutting-edge insights on:
- Redefining cardiovascular risk—from vulnerable plaques to vulnerable patients—using advanced imaging techniques and biomarkers
- Core risk drivers in ASCVD—lipids, chronic inflammation, obesity, diabetes, and hypertension—as integrated therapeutic targets
- Systemic disease and comorbidity management—including the cardio-renal continuum, autoimmune conditions, psychosocial factors, and cardio-oncology
- Precision prevention and future therapies—from genetics and AI-powered risk stratification to personalized therapeutic strategies
- Advanced coronary interventions—management of multivessel disease, left main and bifurcation lesions, severe calcifications, with intravascular imaging and physiology
- Diagnostic evaluation and patient selection for structural interventions
- Complex patient management—bleeding risk optimization, mechanical circulatory support, and hemodynamic instability
- Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)—diagnostic approaches and multidisciplinary care models
- The Heart Team in action—real-world case discussions demonstrating collaborative decision-making across specialties.
The conference featured interactive case presentations, workshops, and expert panels designed to translate evidence into clinical practice. Thank you for joining us in Warsaw where prevention met intervention—we were honored to welcome you!
